America has plenty of well-known traditions like Thanksgiving turkey and Fourth of July parades — but it’s also home to a few funky, lesser-known festivities unique to each state.
Many of these events have historical significance and have been celebrated for decades in certain parts of the country, with participants dressing up in colorful costumes and engaging in weird (but mostly harmless) activities.
